WHAT IS CSA? Community Supported Agriculture was developed in order to reconnect consumers with farmers in a way that benefits all involved. In a traditional CSA model, customers receive a basket of fresh, nutrient dense, in-season produce every week for the length of the growing season. CSA shares are sold before the growing season to help alleviate some of the farmer’s financial burden of seed, materials purchases, and ensure adequate cash to pay for farm hands, which provides local jobs to the community.
Six Point Farm is excited to introduce our CSA Farm Share Program for 2018. We have designed our system of growing and delivering delicious and nutritious fresh MOFGA certified organic vegetables to our Southern Aroostook customers to provide a maximum of flexibility and value. We offer both Full and Half Shares for a 20 week period, and we also offer a “Debit Share” option for those who would like to have complete control over what is in the box and when you receive it. We offer a variety of payment options to match your preference, including prepay and installment plans to suit your budget. Sign up today and start reaping the rewards of a lifestyle that includes fresh, locally and sustainably grown vegetables.
WHAT WE OFFER Traditional Share: With a traditional share you choose either a full or half share. Full share members will receive a box of produce every week for 20 weeks starting mid-June and continuing through late October. Half shares will receive the same size box every other week over the same period. Boxes will be pre-packed depending on what is available each week, and will usually have between 5-15 different items depending on the time of the season.
Debit/ Free Choice Share: Debits can be used for custom order share. A weekly availability list will be sent to you by your preferred contact method. Orders will need to be placed by Wednesday, by phone, text, email, or facebook messenger. Debit may also be used at the Farmers Market in Houlton.
Pick up at the farm on Fridays between 3:00-6:00 P.M., or at Saturday Farmers Market by 10:00 A.M. Please Call Brian at 532-7160 if you have any questions or if there any vegetables, herbs, flowers, specific varieties or preferences you would like to add to the 2018 production list .
